Creating an Animated Gif using Photoshop

Posted by admin on February 20th, 2010 and filed under animated avatars | 7 Comments »

This is a brief video-tutorial I made to show others the very basics of creating animated gif image using Photoshop CS2 powered by Image Ready.

This tutorial is not narrated, but I did my best keep the video focused on the important steps, and made sure to go as slowly as possible without dragging on too much.

Good Luck on your gif. I hope this helps get you started making animated avatars, or whatever else you come up.

    Hi. thanks for the feedback.
In response to your questions; (1) .gif is the only format I know of that will play the image sequence as an animation. (2) Windows Media Player cannot play .gifs.
The animated .gif is mostly used for website graphics, but there are several applications that allow you to import a .gif, (like After Effects), and some 2d-3d game engines can read them too. Hope this was helpful.
