    Yeah, impressive, but not new. Just another American film based on a bunch of special effects and the same old script: lots of violence, lots of gear, a love story in between and a good vs bad storyline. A hero against all odds, an all American favorite. The same old story… over and over again.

    The thing is the font used for the title of the “Avatar” movie looked VERY similar to the font used for the title of the apparently unrelated “Avatar” cartoon. This caused me to think they were SOMEHOW related. But apparently they aren’t.

    Actually the game Halo was inspired by the film “ALIENS”, another James Cameron film (Check out the halopedia website, goto list of references to Aliens by Halo). The hornets was inspired by the Marine copters in that film, so James Cameron wasn’t ripping off some game, but instead carries his OWN ideas from his OWN film to his new film.

    Just to make it clear to those uninformed, the word Avatar, as used in our modern world, means a representation or embodiment. So its a common word actually, at least in the internet realm. It doesn’t mean that this film ripped-off the cartoon, or the cartoon ripped-off the website Yahoo! Avatar (since it exists even before that show).
