Bilin weekly demonstration reenacts the Avatar film

The village of Bilin reenacted James Cameron’s new film Avatar during todays weekly demonstration. Five Palestinian, Israeli and international activists were painted blue, with pointy ears and tales, resembling the Avatar characters. Like Palestinians, the Avatars fight imperialism, although the colonizers have different origins. The Avatars presence in Bilin today symbolizes the united resistance to imperialism of all kinds.
Todays non-violent demonstration was again met with excessive violence by the Israeli army. Sound bombs and tear gas were used, leaving four people directly injured by the canisters. The canisters were shot directly at the protesters, which is in violation with the IDFs firing regulations. Many other activists suffered from tear gas inhalation.
Before coming to Bilin, Israeli activists reported that police were present at their carpool meeting point. Their IDs were checked and some cars reported they were followed by the police. At the Rantis checkpoint, they were delayed once more and activists were obliged to continue their journey by taxi.
Bilin has reason to celebrate this week. Yesterday, preparations for the construction of the new Wall began, which returns 30 per cent of Bilins land to the village. Iyad Burnat, Head of the Bilin Popular Committee speaks of a victory: We feel relieved and feel the non-violent resistance is successful in its aim. Nevertheless, we will continue our struggle against the occupation as Bilin still has another 30 per cent of land that is confiscated by Israel.
Next week Bilin will have a special demonstration, celebrating five years of non-violent resistance and expects a large number of demonstrators. Bilin calls for all its supporters to invite people to join in next weeks demonstration.

Show where “eironworks” or anybody here giving an Israeli view advicate for “pure race” or “pure jew land”? You are good at making “straw man” arguments. Israel’s Jewish population is “racialy” very diverse, plus there is a large Arab population of citizens, include High Court justices and cabinet members, so how can you say we suport “Jew-only”?

Now, Arab dictator Assad from Syria, when he took care of his problem with his terorists in his country who threaten his government, he killed many innocents in that town, But you know what? After that, Syria had peace & quiet from the Ihwan-and like I say, Syria suports Hamas with the same ideology as the group he fougt. They had the rite idea. Even Assad, who was defintely an evil dictator (now his son is in control in SYria) had a good reason to shell that town in 1982,they were in the control of a very radical, evil group, al Ikhwan al Musleemen (Muslim Brothers) who made a lot of terror atacks in Syria and killed a lot of inocents. I see you justify delibrate murder. SO many of the sucide bombers are people came from middel class familys, intact, but they have been poison & brain-washed for hate. We had a first big wave of suicide belt bombs mostly from Hamas/Islamic Jihad here in 1996– when the peace talks was strong but Hamas wanted to show how they opose any peace with us as against the Islam. No, I justify the actions of IDF in fighting the deliberate teror of Hamas against our civilians. Arabs (and …
Arabs (and palestinians particularly): the worlds greatests publicitarian experts. All they do, and I mean really everything, they do aiming to capture international attention. It´s like they are always playing a role. Look at this video!
If their effforts were guided more to their self development than to produce these sketches, all of them would gain in life quality and peace. But no…. they preffer to keep the naivea from the world feelin pitty for them.
