If you have photoshop you just have to resize the image to 50×50 pixels.

On deviantArt.com, you can get an icon, how do you make your picture the right size for the set standards?

deviantArt.com is where you can make an account. on the profile, you can make/get an icon, and it says it has to fit the following standards:
An avatar image file should be a 50×50 px PNG, JPEG or GIF image that is smaller than 15 KB. What does that mean and how do i get my picture to meet those standards?

What programme are you using to make digital art?

All you have to do is take your icon into Photoshop or PSP, and resize it to 50×50. Save it as a JPEG or a GIF, and it should meet the 15KB restriction with no problems if it’s not animated.

ok i just recently joined deviantart and i want a shadouge avatar picture (yeah im into sonic dont criticize me im 13!) so can anyone send me a link to a picture that fits? plz dont trick me to having to look at creepy photos im internallly scarred by one photo so plz prove to me that nice ppl still exist on the internet

Can I change the KB of a picture?

Deviantart won’t accept any avatar that is larger than 15 KB, and 50×50 pixels. I resized it, that’s easy enough, but I’ve tried changing to numerous avatars, and they’re all over 15 KB. Can I change this to make it less? If I can, can I do it in photoshop (and how?)

Image>Image Size. At the bottom of the dialog box, check "resample image" and select "BIcubic Sharper" from the drop down list. At the top of the dialog box, where it shows Pixel dimensions, change your dimensions to 50 X 50. But the key is the resolution! Under Width and Height is Resolution. With the Resample image box checked, you can now change the resolution of your image as well as the dimensions. Change it to 72 dpi, which is the standard for screen (web) display.

At the very top of the dialog box, you should see the file size drop down to under that 15 KB requirement.

Its doesn’t have to be 50×50.. It can be any size.. but not so BIG..
Well, you can find lots in photobucket.. sorry if this is not helping enough.

Most people on DeviantArt make there own avatars. You can shrink an image down to that size or cut out part of an image and make it that size….then save it as a jpg and you’re off and running!

They need to be 50×50, like the size of AIM icons.
And PLEEEASE, for the love of all things holy, don`t tell me Iconator or Google images.
I tried looking in both of those places, and all of the avatars look too premade or too MSN/AIM icon-esque.
Preferably something Death Note related, but anything goes.

I just joined deviantart.com and am looking for avatars hard since they keep saying the uploads have to be 50X50 any one knows any good places to find them?

As DA is more of an artist’s community, the majority of members create their own avatars.

DeviantART Avatar Problem?

I can’t change my avatar. I went to Edit Profile, and did everything. The avatar was 50×50, it was GIF, and it was less than 15 kb. What is the problem?

It might be a bug. A few people were trying to upload an avatar I had made for them today and it wasn’t changing even after clearing the catch and refreshing the icon. And triple checking it was the avatar was the right size.
