THE ANIMATED AVATAR TRAILER.avi

This is my animated version of the Avatar Trailer. It is a mix between ‘Treasure Planet’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’. I don’t know if the merpeople of Atlantica was the best choice of population to replace the Navi’s, but since I love Ariel, I just had to add her into the story.

This is the cast list;

Jim Hawkins – Jake Sully
Ariel – Neytiri
John Silver – Colonel Miles Quaritch
Captain Amelia – Trudy Chacon
Prince Eric – Jake’s Avatar

I haven’t really figure out who King Triton and Ursula would be, but I guess Triton could be a mix between both Tsu’tey and Neytiri’s father, Eytukan.

AVATAR – Trailer | James Cameron 2009

Volendo salvare i Navi, Jake li avverte.

‘Avatar’ is the best movie of the Year

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under avatars | 25 Comments »

Back in 1996, James Cameron announced that he would be creating a film called Avatar, a science-fiction epic that would feature photo-realistic, computer-generated characters.
He had a treatment for the film, which already defined many things, including the Na’vi a primitive alien race standing ten feet tall with shining blue skin, living in harmony with their jungle-covered planet Pandora.
Soon after, though, Avatar had to be shelved as the technology of the time could not satisfy the creative desires of the director.
Fast-forward to October 2009: Dan Lemmon, FX supervisor and Andy Jones, animation director at Weta Digital have about two weeks left of visual effects production for Avatar. The near-900 strong crew spanned across six locations are practically working around the clock to achieve what was deemed impossible a decade earlier.
Weta Digital, the New Zealand studio responsible for the groundbreaking visual effects in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong, is taking VFX to a new level of creative and technological excellence.
For Avatar, the studio has created over 1,800 stereoscopic, photo-realistic visual effects shots, many of them of the Na’vi as ‘hero’ characters. In addition to digital characters and environments are the machines, vehicles, equipment and everything else that help blur the line between imagination and reality.
“We’re not just talking about the environment, but the creatures, the machines and the vehicles that people use to get around. The whole world is unique and because of the way James Cameron approaches things, everything seems functional and believable. Compared to other sci-fi fantasy genre films there’s a certain level of realism just in the design that makes it very believable,” says VFX supervisor Dan Lemmon.

I didn’t expect to finish this video till after I came back from holiday, lol. But it turns out I had more free time than I thought before I leave, so yay.

The video turned out to be easier than I expected. The only really challenging part was the part about the avatars and it sucks a bit but hopefully the rest of the video can make up for it :)

What would have been really great for this video is if Kokoum had had enough lines in the film, because then he could’ve been Jake’s avatar, but unfortunately that just wasn’t an option. Sigh.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Avatar Movie Part 1 Full Movie

Posted by admin on February 5th, 2010 and filed under avatars | 2 Comments »

Watch the full movie: http://tinyurl.com/avatarfullmovie1
AVATAR takes us to a spectacular world beyond imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on an epic adventure, ultimately fighting to save the alien world he has learned to call home. James Cameron, the Oscar-winning director of Titanic, first conceived the film 15 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not exist yet. Now, after four years of production, AVATAR, a live action film with a new generation of special effects, delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story. We enter the alien world through the eyes of Jake Sully, a former Marine confined to a wheelchair. But despite his broken body, Jake is still a warrior at heart. He is recruited to travel light years to the human outpost on Pandora, where corporations are mining a rare mineral that is the key to solving Earths energy crisis. Because the atmosphere of Pandora is toxic, they have created the Avatar Program, in which human drivers have their consciousness linked to an avatar, a remotely-controlled biological body that can survive in the lethal air. These avatars are genetically engineered hybrids of human DNA mixed with DNA from the natives of Pandora… the Navi. Reborn in his avatar form, Jake can walk again. He is given a mission to infiltrate the Navi, who have become a major obstacle to mining the precious ore. But a beautiful Navi female, Neytiri, saves Jakes life, and this changes everything. Jake is taken in by her clan, and learns to become one of them, which involves many tests and adventures. As Jakes relationship with his reluctant teacher Neytiri deepens, he learns to respect the Navi way and finally takes his place among them. Soon he will face the ultimate test as he leads them in an epic battle that will decide nothing less than the fate of an entire world.
